Upvan Lake

Lake #4 of The City Of Lakes Project

Upvan Lake is one of Thane’s famous lakes. The area is vast. There is a jogging track along the lake for people to stroll. Adjoining the lake are a couple of food joints.

Upvan Lake

Close to the lake, is a beautiful garden, where you can sit and relax, and have cute picnics with your family and friends. It is a pleasant place to immerse in nature. Also a good place for photoshoots.

There is a big Shiva statue in the middle of the lake. There are also boat rides available. Beaware it gets flooded because of heavy rains during the monsoon season.

During the months of february-march they host the Sanskruti Arts festival, where many paintings and art are installed. They also have concerts by famous bollywood playback singers, and also host many daytime activites & workshops. There were no fests for the two years due to the pandemic. Hopefully they resume next year.

To conclude, Upvan Lake is a must visit if you are in Thane. Nature lovers will enjoy this place. Its perfect for morning/evening strolls and to have cute picnics with friends & family.
