Upvan Arts Fest 2020

The Sanskruti Arts Festival (aka Upvan Arts Fest) is 4 day Annual Arts Festival held at Upvan Lake in Thane (Maharashtra, India). This year the fest was held from 21st to 24th of February.

At the entrance you will see the statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Along the way, you will come across various paintings and art installations.

The festival organizes music concerts and conduct various workshops. There are more than a 100 stalls selling handicrafts, jewellery, food, etc. Stalls are set up by local businesses.

Upvan Lake

At the ghat, one can view classical performances by reputed and famous musicians. At that end of the road, is the mela (fair) set up. There are alot of rides including the Giant Wheel.

This year’s festival was inaugurated with a music concert on the grounds, by the Padma Shri award winner Kailash Kher.

Fun fact, the official residence of the Mayor of Thane Municipal Corporation lies adjacent to the lake.
