Siddheshwar Lake

Lake #14 of The City of Lakes Project

After Gokul Nagar & Makhamali, Nimi & I visited the final lake of the day – Siddheshwar Talav, which is accessible through the Comrade Godatai Parulekar Uddyan.

The wide lake is mostly surrounded by slums by a small portion is attached to the TMC Garden. However, when we visited the garden the gates were locked and chained. So I suppose entry to the lake premises isn’t allowed anymore.

Nimi still managed to click a few photos through the gate, and we thought to spend time in the clean & well-kept garden, but the caretaker informed us that the garden is open for public only after 4PM.

When we had checked Google beforehand it stated that it’s open 24 hours 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, we clicked a few more photos of the place and left.

There is nothing to see in the lake, no activities and it isn’t even accessiable to the general public, but the TMC Garden is well-kept and maintained. If you are a local resident or just visiting the area, you should definitely spend some time in the green space.

All in all, it was a day well-spent discovering parts of my city I otherwise wouldn’t have known. I’m glad I took the step to explore and thanks to my friend Nimi who happily tagged along (I wouldn’t have gone alone), and clicked amazing photos for me and you guys.
