Kharegaon Lake

Lake #7 of The City of Lakes Project

Swatantrya Sainik Nagnath Mahadu Mhatre Talav also known as Kharegaon Lake provides boating facilities, also has a small pond with turtles, a children’s playground, a mandir, and some benches in a little garden area.

We got to see these cute ducks swim across the lake. Everywhere they went, they were following each other in a line uniformly. I wish I could have pet them or feed them. They were so cute.

Kharegaon Lake is fairly a small lake, but is big enough to take your kids paddle boating. You might notice some small fish in the lake and come across cute ducks. The pond adjoining the lake holds many turtles.

After the renovation and restoration of Kharegaon lake, it has become a picnic spot for nearby local residents. Also there are 2 gates to enter the lake, and the wall in between has this cute, funny painting of Mowgli and the Lion King cartoons.

Shree Nagnath Mahadu Mhatre Talav is a must visit if you are in town. It’s a good place to take your morning and evening strolls. Kids will have a jolly time in the playground. You can go paddle boating with your friends. People will revitalise their energy from the daily hustle.

ABBY RECOMMENDS :

Taking soap leaves. They are tiny to pack and are much cheaper than using the washing service in a hotel or a laundrette, especially when staying in a city. Travel washing lines are also a great idea.
