Lonavala Rainy Experience

On the way to Lonavala

When I visited Lonavala last year, it was the beginning of the month of July and the beginning of the season of Monsoon.

We were about 20 of us, traveling in a bus. Our plan was to spend the afternoon and evening sight-seeing, spend the night in town, and leave by next morning. The two days that we spent there, it rained cats and dogs, but we were still able to do a little sight-seeing.

The first place we went to was Bushi Dam. It was raining while we were on our way. It was so cold, but we all enjoyed.

In the evening, we went to visit the Shree Narayani Dham Temple. It was so beautiful and peaceful. The temple from the outside looked like a palace.

Chikkis are a delicacy of Lonavala. It is a traditional Indian sweet generally made of nuts and jaggery. By the way, it’s very easy to find a chikki store, because every other store is a ‘Chikki and Fudge’ store. There are various kinds of chikkis. The common one is Groundnut Chikki.

Lonavala is a hill station in Maharastra, India which can be explored in 2 or 3 days. Visiting the Wax Museum and Bhushi Dam is a must. So is tasting their famous chikki.

All in all, Lonavala was a fun experience. If you are a hill-station person, you are going to enjoy the climate and atmosphere.

Bon Voyage! Abby
